Keith MacFie, Lacrosse

Keith MacFie’s lacrosse officiating career has been both long-running and influential. MacFie has been a college, high school and post-collegiate club lacrosse official for more than 20 years, beginning in 1992. MacFie is currently active as an official at the high school level in Washington and at the college level all across the Pacific Northwest in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and British Columbia. He joined the College Officials Committee in 1993 and recently took over as the District 11 governor for the committee and is the District 11 assigning authority for Pacific Northwest Collegiate Lacrosse League contests. MacFie’s influence in lacrosse officiating extends to his role as co-founder of the Washington Lacrosse Officials Association in 1999. He has served as an association board member since then and is also the training coordinator and rules interpreter. He has worked seven collegiate semifinal and final matches, along with more than 15 high school semifinal and final contests. Also an active and acclaimed football official since 1993, MacFie keeps his schedule full with officiating duties throughout the sports seasons. He has been a board member for the Western Washington Football Officials Association since 2009, receiving the Tom Cross award for service to the organization that year. In 2011 he was honored as the Washington Officials Association recipient of the Meritorious Service to Youth award. MacFie lives in Tacoma, where he has been a private practice attorney since 1980. He was born in Toronto, Ontario, and graduated from Kenyon College in Ohio in 1977
