Dick Hassan, Fastpitch Softball
Dick will umpire a softball game anytime, anywhere, and at any level. Dick has been an umpire since he was paid with bottles of Coca Cola as a 12-year-old. That was 67 years ago.
He has umpired six national fastpitch and slowpitch tournaments and 20 no-hitters in baseball and softball. Five of them were perfect games in fastpitch.
Dick has devoted immense time and resources to youth and athletics, helping to plan and build numerous parks and recreational property in the Puget Sound region.
Dick has also been an official for middle school, high school and college football, basketball, baseball, and volleyball. A U.S. Air Force veteran originally from New Lebanon, New York, Dick directed sports programs at Madigan Army Medical Center for 18 years.
