UPDATE: New Guest Speaker for February 12th Lunch Meeting: Buddy Horton to Replace Bill Schwartz
Unfortunately, Bill Schwartz will not be able to attend the February 12th Lunch Meeting due to personal health reasons. In place of Bill, we are having Buddy Horton, an NFL Official Referee. Horton has been officiating football for 40 years, including spending 18 years as an NFL Back Judge and Field Judge from 1999–2017. During his NFL career, Horton officiated 13 playoff games, including two Pro Bowls, and one conference championship. He was an alternate official in Super Bowl XLI. He was also a women’s and men’s basketball official for more than 30 years, officiating in two Division I women’s conferences and numerous NCAA playoff games, and women’s and men’s Division II college basketball. A graduate of Grays Harbor Community College and Oregon State University, Horton played both football and baseball. While in college, he got his start in officiating high school basketball. Horton and his wife, Cindy, live in Tacoma, Washington, where he has been inducted into the Pierce County Sports Hall of Fame as a football official and a baseball player.
