As a member of the TAC you will be supporting amateur athletics in Pierce County along with the opportunity to engage in fellowship with others that share a common interest in sports.
The TAC offers a variety of memberships:
- Standard Membership - $150/year
- Standard Membership, (40&Under) - $75
- Life-time Membership - $1,500
- Business Membership - $375
Business membership includes up to 3 named individuals from the same company or organization and a listing on the TAC website on our Business Members page.

How your membership impacts Amateur athletes
Your membership in the Tacoma-Pierce Athletic Commission allows us to continue to support amateur sports and civic betterment in the Tacoma-Pierce County area. With your support the TAC is able to:
- Honor student athletes each season for their athleticism, academics, and community involvement through our Athlete of the Year committee.
- Present scholarships as part of the Tom Names Salute to Sports, in partnership with the Names Family Foundations.
- Host events such as the Golden Gloves, our annual golf tournament, and the Distinguished Achievement Awards.
- Provide monthly meetings with guest speakers and a chance for fellowship with other sports enthusiasts.
- And much more.
Aside from recognition and scholarships, over the years the TAC has contributed to sports and the community in a numbers of ways including:
- Raised money and leading a successful campaign to vote “YES” for the Tacoma Dome
- Secured money to build the multi-field Heidelberg Sports Complex
- The formation of the Tacoma-Pierce County Sports Hall of Fame.
- Secured a $25,000 grant and contributed an additional $11,000 to purchase Automatic External Defibrillators for all Tacoma School District high schools and middle schools.
- And many other projects.

TAC Monthly Membership Meetings
Join us every second Thursday of the month at 12pm at Cheney Stadium for the Tacoma-Pierce Athletic Commission’s (TAC) Membership Meeting. These gatherings bring together sports enthusiasts, community leaders, and athletic supporters to hear from distinguished speakers across Pierce County. Each meeting provides an opportunity to connect, collaborate, and stay informed about the latest in local sports and community initiatives.
TAC Annual Events
Throughout the year, the Tacoma-Pierce Athletic Commission hosts a variety of events dedicated to honoring and supporting athletes in Pierce County. We recognize top athletes each sports season through our Athlete of the Year program and celebrate excellence in sports through events like Golden Gloves, Tribute to Champions, and the Doug McArthur Golf Tournament. These events not only highlight outstanding athletic achievements but also strengthen the connection between the community and its sports leaders.
