Salute to Sports
What is the Salute to Sports?
The Salute to Sports is our spring Athlete of the Year event, where we honor not only the outstanding athletes from across Pierce County but also recognize the winners of our scholarships. At this event, we award eight different scholarships, totaling approximately $45,000, providing these exceptional student-athletes with the opportunity to further their education and athletic careers at higher institutions. It's a celebration of both athletic excellence and academic achievement, highlighting the bright futures of these young individuals.
How do the Scholarships winners get Chosen?
Scholarship winners are carefully selected by the Athlete of the Year committee. This dedicated group reviews all applications submitted by eligible student-athletes, considering each candidate's achievements, potential, and alignment with the criteria for the various scholarships. The committee ensures that the most deserving individuals are chosen to receive these awards, recognizing their hard work and helping them pursue further education and athletic opportunities.
